Eight years after the first season aired, Ayeye is back with a whole new look!

The first season of Ayeye followed the lives of three bachelors working in the marketing industry as they navigated the complexities of modern romance, their careers and close friendships. Season 2 has converted the show into an anthology series.

We now follow Zoleka, who was very much dependent on her partner for a lavish lifestyle. After his death, she does whatever it takes to maintain the life she has become accustomed to as well as to keep her son from destitution. In Ayeye: Stripped Zoleka turns to the world of adult content as a means to support her glamourous life.

“Zoleka dropped out of university, and she doesn’t have many skills. She joins OnlyFans – a subscription service which allows people to charge their fans for videos and pictures,” explains lead actor, Rosemary Zimu.

At first, she considers showing off her extensive handbag collection to gain fans, but she needs to make money to pay her son’s school fees and keep a roof over them. So, she gets into adult content creation,” she adds.

However, her journey towards being a top content creator takes some dark turns, as she finds herself in over her head.

“Along the line, Zoleka reaches a point where she thinks, ‘What did I get myself into?’ She doesn’t know how to manoeuvre in this new world. It becomes scary and dangerous.”

Rosemary Zimu (Champagne, Shadow) stars alongside radio personality Zama Ngcobo, Luthando ‘BU’ Mthembu (Big Brother Mzansi), Kealeboga Masango (Rhythm City), Pabee Moganedi (Abomama), Charles Phasha (Isibaya) and many more!

“As a channel, we’re adaptable and ahead of the curve, which is why we’re embracing the anthology format for some of our shows. The first season of Ayeye gave viewers plenty to talk about, and this new season is just as topical,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

The 13-part season is produced by Seriti Films, best-known for their work on hit shows such as Gomora, The Herd and The Imposter.

As a show that resonates with audiences, this is a definite must-watch for any buyer looking to fill their schedule with a compelling series.
