My Brother’s Keeper tells the riveting tale of a family  thrown into a deadly succession battle filled with unexpected turns and dirty tricks.

After leaving viewers on edge with the ending of the first season, the popular telenovela recently returned to the small screen with the Shabalala family embedded in multiple scandals.

Leading stars Wiseman Mncube (Shaka iLembe, Ehostela, The Wife) and Zola Nombona (Ingoma, eHostela, Lockdown) return alongside Sdumo Mtshali (iNumber Number, Isibaya) and Lindani Nkosi (Adulting, Isidingo).

“Telenovelas are a much-loved genre, and we look forward to growing our impressive and versatile content slate with a show that is sure to keep us all intrigued and entertained,” said Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

The Broadcast Research Council of South Africa’s (BRCSA) February 2024 figures reveal that the telenovela is the fourth most-watched show on DStv. 


What to expect from season 2

The Shabalala family is in turmoil at the start of the new season with tragedies, business betrayals, and much more taking centre stage.

Donga steps up to save the struggling family business while stepping on his father’s toes for taking up this new role. Meanwhile, Nqubeko faces challenges in his own bid to lead the family company and step out of his father’s shadow. Fakazile, the defiant daughter-in-law, also sparks conflict within the family when she challenges cultural norms in her attempt to improve her own status.

My Brother’s Keeper brings a daily dose of unmissable drama which is the perfect way to kick off any night filled with addictive entertainment.
