Projek Dina is a thrilling crime drama where a group of investigators try to solve missing person cases before it’s too late.

The Rapid Response Task Team consists of three members with very different personalities and each member offers a different set of skills to aid in solving these vital cases. All of the cases that feature in the show are based on true-life stories, with former Hawks investigator Marcel van der Watt and Missing Children SA’s Nicky Rheeder and Bianca van Aswegen consulting. The task force is nicknamed “Projek Dina”, after the biblical character, Dinah; who was thought to be the first person in history to be kidnapped.

The task team lead, Deon Visagie, is portrayed by Tim Theron, star of the SAFTA-winning film, Griekwastad as well as Vuil Wasgoed and Hunting Emma. Visagie has trouble interacting with others but makes up for it by noticing details that no one else picks up on.

Sergeant Lux Dladla is the opposite of Visagie. Dladla loves working with people and often works around the rules to do what he feels is right. The role is portrayed by Chumani Pan, star of Netflix’s Shadow and multiple local productions such as Igazi, Donkerland and Isithembiso.

Warrant officer Ronel Oosthuizen serves as the glue that keeps the whole team together, despite carrying a dark secret with her. Chanelle de Jager (Die Boekklub, Fynskrif) is cast in the role.

Another crucial part of the team is the unofficial informant, Charlene “Charlie” Botha (portrayed by Arendsvlei’s Kay Smith), a self-taught hacker with tons of street smarts.

Projek Dina also features appearances by a myriad of stars, such as Lee-Ann van Rooi (Sara se Geheim, Ekstra Medium), Jana Kruger (Binnelanders, Donkerland), Wilhelm van der Walt (Ekstra Medium, Fynskrif), Nadia Valvekens (Binnelanders, Alles Malan) and veteran actor Neels van Jaarsveld (The Bang Bang Club, Binnelanders, Fynskrif, Dwaalster) to name a few.

The show is produced by Penguin Films, the driving force behind hit series such as Arendsvlei, Sara se Geheim and the SAFTA-winning (Best Actress - Feature Film) film, Krotoa.
