Three years after the death of her darling daughter, Elouise, Mara still feels her presence whenever she sits down on the butterfly bedding in front of the urn that holds her ashes. When Mara organises a twelfth birthday party for Elouise, she further estranges her from her husband, Rigter, and their remaining daughter, Hannah. Even though Mara obliges when Rigter insists that she cleans up Elouise’s room, Mara still can’t let go. Soon Hannah discovers her mom’s secret.
