About the Short Film
While a feared Muay Thai fighter called the Kingpin rules a gangland community on the Cape Flats with an iron fist, Clifford Smith is a disciplined traditional martial arts teacher set on rehabilitating the youth seduced by gangsterism. After the brutal murder of a loved one, Clifford’s life collapses. He is overcome with rage and the desire to take revenge. As he embodies the spirit of the dragon, he’s torn between the Eastern belief in the dragon as a creature of virtue and good fortune, and the Western idea of the dragon as a bringer of death. Sacrificing his code of honour, he vows to lay waste to the killers.
