About the Series
The English language version is currently available for licensing to the World excluding Africa: Isikizi, which means “disgrace” is a Xhosa drama that follows the tragic story of an honourable, but impulsive young man, who runs away from his hometown in a desperate attempt to escape a dreadful prophecy that was decreed upon his life. Inspired by a Shakespearean story and set in rural Eastern Cape, the leading character’s journey begins when he returns from the mountains, only to overhear a dreadful prophesy that will change his destiny for the worst. Isikizi tackles issues of true love and its consequences, fate versus free will, the power of fear and the importance of honouring one’s heritage.
